Vision board

LI: To tell what you want to acheive by using pictures and words.

Today we made a DLO about what we want to achieve this year by using pictures and words. I want to achieve a lot of things and I will try my hardest. My vision to go to  Fiji and see my family, I haven't met all of my famliy. I really enjoyed making this because it made me think a lot about what I wanted to do in one year , so I'm trying to complete as much as I can.  I think  this is a good way to strive towards acheiving my goals.

hauoru

Hauora

LI: To draw and label your own Hauora diagram

In order to be able to perform at their best athletes need to have a four walls of the whare tapawha standing.

We created this poster to show what each wall represents and why it is important.

I found out that an athlete could be better than they could be, whilst making themselves more stable if they ever lose

I enjoyed making the poster Because I could see that if all these athletes had these 4 walls they could make themselves better than they already are.

Hauroa and olymiplans

Ariana & Tanisha

Athletes who win make sure they know how to also lose in a proper manner, it’s normal for people to cry when they win or lose.

Tears of happiness and gratitude for the winners and tears of sorrow and disappointment for those who have taken a step back.

It is important to enjoy and celebrate the success you earn, embrace the goals you have achieved and the goals that you have set for yourself.  Motivating yourself makes you believe that you can do anything that you put your mind to.

Matariki

LI: To strengthen our connections to Matariki.

Matariki is the Maori new year celebration. It takes places each year when the cluster of stars known as Matariki are seen in our skies. The new year is a time for new beginnings and is a time to embrace tradition. To strengthen our connections to Matariki we had a choice of research activities.I found this activty really fun , because we get to do things with my group and describe where , how who what and when about the stars.
  • I found out…I enjoyed …. because

Decorating the Tree

LI: To decorate the office Christmas tree

The purpose of our Design Technology challenge was to create a set of Christmas/Holiday decorations that respresented our school and the people in it. We were given a design brief from Mr Johnston and a delivery date. To celebrate the end of this challenge LS2 delivered their completed decorations to Mr Johnston, then hung them on the tree in our school office.

What is Inertia

LI: To make  DLO what is a Inertia

This week for inquiry we have been learning about inertia. We created a DLO talking about what the different types of inertia was and made written some examples. I worked with Victoria, Lily, and Afatia to get this completed. I enjoyed doing this DLO as I was able to collaborate with my class mates.

Who would I vote for?

LI: To decide which political party will get your vote by making an informed choice

To decide which political party I would vote for I read a summary of the policies each party wants to introduce should they win the election and the right to form a government to run NZ. Doing this allowed me to make an informed decision.

If I was 18 I would vote for Labour because they are helping with learning support in schools This means if Labour won the election in my electorate Jenny Salesa would be our member of parliament and Jacinda Adern would stay as our Prime Minister.

I liked this activity because we learnt how to make an informed choice and we could choose who ever we wanted.

It's cool to be me

LI: To identify my own qualities

This DLO shows you why it's cool to be me! I have written about my friends and myself, my favourite things to do and what my goals are. I think it's great to be me because I'm important to the people in my world.

Problem Solving with Tangrams

LI: To explore problem solving

LS2 and LS1 were make tangrams by working together. We listened to the instructions and made a tangram puzzle with a piece of paper and pair of scissors. When we finished we used our problem solving skills and asked our friends questions to find the solution. Our challenge was to make a square with the shapes then make an animal. It was fun.
