Coding In Python

L.I : To Learn how to code the Microbot in the Phyton.

 Here is an example of the buttons,  the main thing to notice is "def" which is defining what the on_button_pressed will make the microbot do. Again this has a top and bottom so the content has to go insde it. 

   

The first one image shows the Phyton coding for the flashing hearts code that I made. It flashes between a small heart icon and a large heart Icon. The diference between python coding is that block coding uses blocks and python coding uses text that you have to type down.

Rock Paper Scissors

LI To learn how to code the microbit to play rock papaer scissors and understand how the flowchart matches the code.

1. When I shake the microbit it will choose a random number between 1 and 3

2. I have to make a variable called hand and set this to the random number.

3. If the number is 1 - the microbit will show the symbol for paper

4. If the number is 2 - the microbit will show the symbol for rock

5. If the number is 3 - the microbit will show the symbol for scissors

Science at Tech

L.I to learn about the Leaf Structure.

   

 For this week the year 7's learn about leaves Structure and  mrs sharm asks us questions about the leaves  and we lent some new words and it was fun and then mrs sharm tell us  to pick up 10 differt kind of  leaves and we pate it in our books 

                                            

Rocket Science

L.I:  To figure out how to make a straw rocket                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Today we built a rocket with straws and tube and we practised how to launch it. The materials that we used were straws, tape and some paper and then used all of those materials to make the straw rocket. After we made it we got into a row and blew our straw rocket and check how far it went.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     For this week the year 7's learning about Plastic, We also learned about Plastic, material, wood, paper and metal which helps us learn and understand our learning. We also played an activity that will give us more information on plastic. The most interesting fact that I learnt was that every year 17 billion rubbish gets thrown away in the ocean.

Tech: Science and STEAM

LI: to  identify what we know about science.

Today was  our first time going to science and we learnt about the names of the equipment and about what the equipment does. We talked about what science is and what part science we enjoy learning about. Mrs Sharma asked us to write a question about one thing we wanted to know more about in science. I want to find out why science is full of experiments?

Food Technology

Today at Tech we made sagwala with Mrs Heka. Sagwala is a spinach curry and it tastes delicious! I'm going to ask my mum if we can make this at home together. If you would like to make sagwala at home the recipe is on my DLO. You can add meat like lamb to this curry as well.

Food Technology

LI: To make chicken with salad and rice.

At Tech we made salad with chicken and rice and it tasted delicious. I worked with Vayan and my job was to cut and cook the chicken. Cooking the chicken was easy because I had practised using the frying pan when we make hotcakes. This is the recipe we used. I really liked it because it was colourful and healthy. Mrs Anderson was away so we didn't take any photos of the food, but it looked like this.
